Meet the Staff!

Guy Cain

ZASC founder

Guy is an Eagle Scout (Troop 602 So. Beloit Illinois, 1983) who has been camping since he was quite young. He learned to hunt and fish from his father, a combat veteran with the U.S. Marine Corp.  In Scouts, Guy  came to a better understanding of nature, concentrating on outdoor skills/merit badges like Enviromental Studies, Wilderness Survival, and of course camping.

While ZASC was originally planned as a  small weekend gathering with  friends, it soon turned into an opportunity to learn, share and practice survival skills of all types, eventually becoming a thriving business and Guy's full time passion.

Trevor Greenfield AKA Watcher

Resident Medic, Photographer

Trevor is that "kid" who gives us hope for the future.  His knowledge of the outdoors is impressive for his age and he has a great eye for photography. With  his current college class schedule he will soon be a Registered Nurse . Look for him to become a major player in ZASC operations.

Tim Rigby

Resident Archer and Graphic Artist

When he isnt sitting in a treestand hunting the elusive "tirty point buck," Tim is busy designing our t-shirts, hats, stickers, and all the other cool ZASC paraphenalia.  If we could just get him to share his secret hunting spots.....

Troy Walker

Resident Chef

Dennis Walther

Resident Maniac

His title says it all. Dennis has a love of camping, hunting, firearms, and early American history.

Most weekends you will find him dressed in "funny" clothes, participating in reenactments throughout the midwest, practicing the "old ways."

Don Watson  AKA Doc
Jack of all Trades, "Specialization  is for ants".

Just like the title says, Doc is our all around knowledge guy. He's been lurking in the ethernet, creating our website and handling all the IT issues, but we are going to bring him into the spotlight soon so he can share more about prepping, camping, and other skills he honed while in the military.

John Watson AKA Razor Sharp

Lead Instructor

John is generally a very quiet guy....until you start talking bushcraft. He has proven to be one of the most knowlegable outdoorsman we've met, yet remains extremely humble. Why he doesn't have his own TV series is unknown, but we are glad to have him on our staff rather than in Hollywood.
